Looking for something different. Meet PROJECT VENUS – the first GREENSCALE film. Unlike Redscale films that predominantly are red, this one actually desaturates the reds while leaving the greens vibrant and blues with a yellowish cast. The DX code is 100.
It has contrast and grain, and a certain punch to it. But in addition to the heavy greens, there are reds and yellows (muted of course) and maybe the slightest touch of blue, but unless filming a very strong blue it might look more as a pale yellow. The pictures posted I shot myself, and a few of them I was quite happy with.
What is Scale Film? Redscale is the
name given to a technique of shooting photographic film where the film
is exposed from the wrong side, i.e. the emulsion is exposed through the
base of the film. The name “redscale” comes because there is a strong
color shift to red due to the red-sensitive layer of the film being
exposed first. The name “greenscale” is similar, but the color shifts are quite different due to the color layers of the film.
